KIC to Exhibit at Componex/ElectronicIndia 2007

(San Diego, CA -- January 29, 2007) : KIC, the leader of thermal process development and control products, and winner of multiple industry awards, announces that it will showcase KIC Vision and 24/7 in its distributor Mectronics Marketing Services‘ booth #166 at the upcoming Componex/ElectronicIndia 2007, scheduled to take place 6-8 February, 2007, in New Delhi, India, at the Pragati Maidan, International Exhibition Centre.

KIC VISION is a low-cost automatic profiling system designed for those customers that want to eliminate the manual tasks associated with periodic profiling for their reflow ovens. Although such profiling has been important for production quality as well as process documentation, many electronics manufacturers are burdened by the negative effects of such manual tasks. These negatives include interruption to the production flow, expense in terms of labor and material (profilers, thermocouples, "golden boards," etc.), error-prone measurements, and the fact that infrequent profiling makes for poor quality control.

Priced comparative to a manual profiler, the easy-to-use KIC Vision provides the best of both worlds. It runs in the background continuously and automatically, and it provides sought-after profiles as frequently as once an hour. The system relies on embedded sensors in the reflow oven and the proven Virtual Profiling software to accurately measure the product profile. After a baseline profile, the product profile is automatically measured and logged in the computer without any further manual input. The measured profile data includes all pertinent process data such as peak temperature, soak, fit to process window and more. The user may select the frequency of the automatic profiling from one profile in per hour increments up to once a week time slots, in one-hour intervals.

KIC‘s 24/7 Process Monitoring brings an innovative level of automation to the thermal process: Automatic profiling of each and every product, around-the-clock monitoring, SPC charting, analysis, documentation and production traceability, all in a single, intuitive product. Continuous tracking occurs in the background, never interrupting production. The real-time process data enables engineers and managers to make crucial cost containment and quality control decisions.

KIC 24/7 uses custom probes installed inside the oven at the product level to gather and record real-time thermal process data for every product. The KIC 24/7 automatically charts all critical process specs: peak temperature, soak time, time above liquidous, etc. The data is plotted on real-time control charts and process capability (Cpk) is calculated for each specification. The overall process window index (PWI) is charted, providing a real-time Cpk for the entire process. Any process drift outside of control limits or defined Cpk value will immediately trigger an alarm. Real-time Cpk tracking provides a zero-defect, fail-safe system that automatically identifies potential defects before they occur.
