(San Diego, CA -- December 15, 2004) : The award winning KIC 24/7™ continuous thermal process monitoring and traceability system has for some time been engaged to the KIC Navigator™ the process development and optimization software, also known as the "oven recipe search engine". With the knowledge that "Process control without proper process development is useless", the KIC 24/7 and Navigator have tied the knot. Effective as of January 1, 2005, the KIC 24/7 ships standard with the KIC Navigator.

The electronic industry‘s constant strive for better quality and lower cost, coupled with EMS clients‘ demand for improved documentation and process traceability have made the KIC‘s continuous thermal process monitoring systems invaluable in thousands of production lines around the world. The more recent lead-free trend makes such technologies a virtual requirement in order to manage the significantly tigher thermal process window.

The KIC Navigator will, prior to commencement of production, select the oven recipe that positions the thermal process towards the center of the narrow process window. This ensures the most stable process while accommodating more of the natural process drift that exists in any process. The KIC Navigator avoids the unwelcome frequent alarm syndrome caused by a poorly developed initial process teetering on the edge of the process window. The KIC 24/7 will instead operate at an optimal level to, in real-time, warn on an out of control process, and immediately alarm on an out of spec situation.
