KIC has shipped Serial Number 2500 of its Continuous Monitoring System

(San Diego, CA -- December 17, 2003) : KIC announces delivery of it‘s 2500th thermal continuous monitoring system. These systems rely on embedded sensors in the curing and reflow ovens or wave solder machines to automatically determine the process data for each processed board.

KIC‘s President, Bjorn Dahle states: "The recent popularity of such systems are primarily driven by the OEM‘s request for process traceability and better quality from their contract manufacturers. The emerging lead-free conversion is also giving an impetus for manufacturers to invest in technologies that can manage the shrinking thermal process window. The KIC 24/7 allows manufacturers to position their thermal process in spec and to keep it inside its process window continuously. The KIC 24/7 will instantly alarm on an out of spec situation as well as provide real time Cpk data on each processed part. The key to the KIC 24/7‘s popularity is not only that it allows for process traceability and defect free thermal production, including lead-free assembly, but that it at the same time improves productivity and hence lowers the production cost."
