| PRESS RELEASE | For Immediate Release |
(San Diego, CA -- May 2, 2003) : KIC, the leader of thermal profiling software and winner of multiple SMT Vision awards, announces a profiler to aid in the transition to lead-free.
With the initiatives in place, it is necessary for electronics manufacturers to prepare for lead-free production. It is crucial to have the proper tools and systems to handle this transition. Now there is a solution -- KIC‘s SlimKIC 2000-LF kit, a profiler and process development tool whose capabilities are designed specifically for optimizing the lead-free thermal process.
SlimKIC 2000-LF kit incorporates up to 12 thermocouples and has both real-time and datalogging options. The system comes standard with a stainless steel thermal shield and thermocouples rated to handle the higher temperatures required for the lead-free reflow process. Additionally, SlimKIC 2000-LF includes the KIC 2000 software platform with a built-in library of commonly used materials and their suggested process limits, including most of today‘s lead-free pastes. For lead-free applications that require higher processing temperatures and smaller process windows, the SlimKIC 2000-LF kit offers Navigator and Auto-Focus, two options that can simplify the lead-free reflow process setup.
