Year 2000 Statement

The Company

KIC has received statements from all mission critical vendors including banks, suppliers, contractors, distributors, and representatives stating that they are prepared for the year 2000.

KIC Thermal Profiling's Information Management System (IMS) which includes such items as business contact database, order processing, billing, and technical support databases, email, fax servers, and other mission critical computer systems are either Year 2000 compliant or are in the process of being upgraded. This preparation has all been done in the form of acquiring compliance statements from vendors, which are kept on file.

KIC Products

KIC has been preparing for the year 2000 and our current products have been rigorously tested. The following is a brief statement of our readiness to date:

• All KIC hardware is unaffected by the year 2000 as dates are not stored in the hardware.
• The DOS version of the KIC software is not Y2K compliant. It displays the year as 100 during the year 2000. Other dates have not been tested.
• The Windows version 2.2.1 is not Y2K compliant. It displays the year as 100 during the year 2000. Other dates were tested, but not in accordance with SEMATECH YEAR 2000 Readiness test scenarios.
• The Windows version 2.2.5 is not Y2K compliant. Though it passed all SEMATECH YEAR 2000 Readiness test scenarios, our rigorous in-house testing discovered some bugs.
• The Windows version 2.3 has passed the SEMATECH YEAR 2000 compliance tests as well as rigorous in-house testing procedures.

  • There have been no significant changes in user interface in v2.3, and all KIC Software v2.2x help files, manuals, setup guides, and tutorials are up to date for version 2.3.
