RPM Architecture
The RPM is comprised of the following three components (see illustration):
KIC 24/7 with RPM: At the heart of the RPM is the KIC 24/7 process monitoring system embedded in your oven. The RPM outputs the KIC 24/7's critical thermal process data across your network to the KIC Server software.
KIC Server Software: The KIC Server software runs on a computer connected to your network and automatically collects all of your KIC 24/7 RPM output data. It then transmits the results to any authorized user on your LAN that is properly logged on using the KIC Viewer software.
KIC Viewer Software: The KIC Viewer runs on any computer or PDA connected to your network and allows you to login and remotely monitor all the real-time KIC 24/7 RPM outputs collected by the KIC Server.
RPM Functionality
Every RPM enabled KIC 24/7 oven runs in Virtual Profiling mode, monitoring the process and providing you with real-time profile/process data for each product manufactured.
The Oven Name, Product Name, Process Window Index (PWI), Real-Time Cpk and current Alarm State (green, yellow or red, with alarm text) are sent to your KIC Server as each product exits the oven.
The KIC Viewer logs you into the KIC Server and displays the pertinent data for all ovens on one screen, updating each oven's status as boards exit and new data is sent.

Profiling Reduced to a Single Number
The PWI measures the profile’s fit to the process window in a mathematical and objective manner by using a single number.
This aids in optimizing the process by comparing and ranking alternative profiles in terms of their fit to the available process window.
The lower the PWI, the more efficient and stable the process!
(See the PWI data sheet for a detailed explanation)
|
The Icon view displays the oven name, product name, PWI value, Cpk and alarm state for each product as it exits the oven, and a visual status for the entire process (green, yellow or red). |
![]() The Chart view graphs the PWI value for the last 100 products processed through each oven, and a visual status for the entire process (green, yellow or red). |
