  7. I have three ovens that each have a Prophet System with dedicated SlimKIC Thermal Receiver. When I lift up the start switch on the SlimKIC Transmitter, a profile is started on all three ovens. What can I do to avoid this?
  8. Can I profile with two different SlimKIC Transmitters on separate ovens within close proximity to each at the same time?

  1. How much memory do I need to run WinKIC?
8Mb if you're only running WinKIC.
16Mb if you're running WinKIC and the Oven Control Software on the same computer.

  2. If I install the latest WinKIC software, will it erase existing WinKIC or DOS data files?
No. All your existing files will remain intact.

  3. How can I copy a profile from WinKIC history to another computer?
Highlight the profile in the Browser and then use the "Save As" button above the Browser window. The file will be saved as a "data " file. If you save to a floppy disk, you can carry this file to another computer. To view the file, load the WinKIC software and select File, Open, Data File or click on the "Load" icon in the Browser.

  4. Can I view a DOSKIC data file in WinKIC?
Yes. Select File, Open, DOS file.

  5. How can I copy profile data to a spreadsheet like Excel(tm) with WinKIC?
With the profile on the screen, select Edit, Copy Product TCs. This will copy the thermal profile data for all the thermocouples attached to your product to the Windows Clipboard. In EXCEL you can then do Edit, Paste.

  6. Can I superimpose profiles in WinKIC?
Yes. This feature was added in version 2.0.1

  7. I have three ovens that each have a Prophet System with dedicated SlimKIC Thermal Receiver. When I lift up the start switch on the SlimKIC Transmitter, a profile is started on all three ovens. What can I do to avoid this?
In Setup-Hardware-More, you can disable SlimKIC Transmitter Starts. You then start your profiles by pressing the Start Button on the SlimKIC Receiver.

  8. Can I profile with two different SlimKIC Transmitters on separate ovens within close proximity to each at the same time?
Yes, but to avoid signal crossover or interference, if the ovens are too close to be able to position the SlimKIC Receivers far enough apart from each other, currently, you must use one SlimKIC as a data logger and the other as a transmitter. You can use both as Transmitters, if you stagger your profiling so the profiles are not running at the same time and one SlimKIC is turned off while the other is profiling. (see Question 7).
